Privacy
What LUTSmith does with your data.
Your files never leave your browser. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits; it sets cookies.
Your files stay on your device.
LUTSmith runs entirely in your browser. The reference image you load, the footage you drop in, and the .cube LUT you export are processed locally — no upload, no remote storage, no intermediate server. When you close the tab, the working state is gone.
We do not have a server that sees your media. We do not have a database that holds it. If a future feature requires remote processing, this page will be updated before the feature ships.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
LUTSmith loads the Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) script to collect usage data — page views, referrers, browser and device class, and rough country. We use this to understand which features earn their place and which ones are dead weight. Google Analytics sets cookies and assigns a pseudonymous client ID; you can read about them in Google's cookie documentation.
We do not send events that include the contents of your files or anything we'd consider sensitive. If you'd rather not be counted, a browser extension blocker (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Brave Shields) will prevent the script from loading at all.
Cookies
LUTSmith itself does not set any cookies. The only cookies that may appear are the ones set by Google Analytics when the analytics script is enabled (described above).
Third parties we link to
The site links out to a small number of third-party sites: a Ko-fi page for support, an X profile for the author, and a parent project page. Clicking those links takes you away from this site; their privacy practices are theirs, not ours.
- Ko-fi: ko-fi.com
- X (formerly Twitter): x.com
- Perloft (parent project): perloft.com
Contact
If you have a privacy question, you can reach the author via the X link above. We don't collect it into a CRM, and we don't share contact details with anyone.
